General information

Besides the town mill, there was a second water mill in Teterow, the Born mill. In records it is mentioned for the first time in 1630. Probably, however, it is considerably older. From 1908 to 1945 a tavern belonged to the mill. In GDR times it was used as a machine loan station and repair base of the agricultural production cooperative. After extensive renovation, the building is now inhabited.

In addition, there were three windmills in the town - a Bock windmill belonging to the Born mill, a Dutch windmill belonging to the town mill and the Martz windmill. In the 20th century a motor mill was added. Today none of these mills exists anymore.
